Vouchers let you treat a friend, family member, or your team to money off their next Chowdeck order. Here's everything you need to know about creating, sharing, and redeeming one.

How do I create a voucher?

  • Tap the Vouchers tile on your homepage, or go to Profile → Vouchers, then tap Create Voucher.

  • Enter a voucher name and your preferred code (it must contain letters, not numbers only).

  • Set the amount, the number of redemptions, and the expiry date.

  • You can restrict it to specific vendors or leave it open to all vendors.

How much will I be charged when I create a voucher?

You're charged (the amount you set) × (the number of redemptions), plus a 2% service charge on the funded value. For example, a ₦20,000 voucher with 1,000 redemptions funds at ₦20,000,000, because each of the 1,000 people who redeem it gets ₦20,000. Your voucher details are shown on the payment page before you confirm, so you can double-check everything is correct.

How do I redeem a voucher code?

  • Tap the Promotions icon on your homepage and enter the code, or enter it directly at checkout.

  • Once redeemed, the voucher is applied to your order.

  • If there's a remaining balance, it stays on the voucher for your next order.

Do I need to update my app to use vouchers?

Yes. Creating and redeeming vouchers only works on the latest version of the Chowdeck app — please make sure you're updated.

Can I use a voucher across more than one order?

Yes. If your order costs less than the voucher's value, the remaining balance stays on the voucher and is visible on your Promotions page for you to use next time.

Can I use a voucher and a promo code on the same order?

Yes, vouchers can be stacked with promo codes at checkout.

What happens to my voucher balance if my order is cancelled?

If an order paid for partly or fully with a voucher is cancelled, the voucher balance used is refunded back to the voucher.

Why is my voucher code saying it's invalid or has expired?

This is usually one of the following:

  • Your app isn't updated to the latest version

  • The voucher has reached its redemption limit

  • The voucher has passed its expiry date

  • The voucher is restricted to specific vendors, and you're trying to use it elsewhere

If none of these apply, please reach out to us with the voucher code and we'll look into it.

I've entered the wrong code a few times, and now it won't let me try again — why?

For security, repeated incorrect attempts will temporarily lock you out with a message like "Too many failed attempts — please try again tomorrow." Please double-check your code and try again after the cooldown period.

Why does it say "Oops, Wrong Vendor!" or "Oops, Wrong Outlet!"?

Some vouchers are restricted to specific vendors or outlets by the person who created them. Open the voucher details in the app to see exactly where it can be used.

I redeemed a voucher, but it isn't reflecting on my order. What do I do?

Please reach out to our support team with a screen recording of you applying the code at checkout and a screenshot of your discount/voucher page so we can confirm the redemption and resolve it quickly.

Can I track how my voucher is being used?

Yes, if you created a voucher, you can see how many redemptions have been used out of the total you set. Note that you won't be able to see who specifically redeemed it.

Can I cancel a voucher I created or get a refund?

There is currently no self-serve way to cancel a voucher, and we're unable to offer refunds on vouchers once they've been funded. Your voucher stays valid and can be shared and redeemed until its expiry date.
