What is the Chowdeck Service Fee?

The service fee is a consumer fee that appears on your price breakdown at checkout on the Chowdeck app. It's calculated as a percentage of your order subtotal, which is the cost of your items excluding the delivery fee, so it grows as your order gets bigger. To stop it from getting excessive on larger orders, the service fee is capped at a maximum amount. The percentage and the cap can differ from one restaurant to another, so two orders of the same size won't always carry the same service fee.

Why do we charge this?

Getting food delivered anytime, anywhere is convenient, but it takes a lot to run a delivery service well. The service fee helps us cover the technology behind the app, payment processing, and the support team that's ready to help when something goes wrong. We sincerely appreciate your patronage and look forward to surpassing delivery standards as we establish ourselves as a household name for meal delivery across Africa.

If you have any questions about the service fee on a specific order, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Have a Chowdeck day!
