How to Set Up Your Chowsmart Menu
You can set up your Chowsmart menu in minutes on the Chowdeck Business App by following these steps:
Open the Chowdeck Business app.
Tap Products.
Tap Manage inventory.
Tap the Chowsmart tab. If you haven't added a Chowsmart item yet, you'll see "Welcome to Chowsmart" with a button to get started.
Tap Add your first item.
Fill in your meal's details:
Name (e.g. Jollof rice combo).
Is this an existing menu? If the meal is already on your menu, select it here.
Description. Share the components of the item, for example "It's made from tomato and rice".
Upload item image. Upload a clear, appetizing photo of the meal. The image must be a JPEG or PNG, less than 1MB, and 900px by 900px. Tap See sample to see an example.
Price. Enter the price for the meal. Your commission and your settlement update as you type.
Then set how the meal is prepared and sold:
Prep time (in minutes). How long it takes to prepare the item. The maximum is 5 minutes.
Available hours. Choose how many days a week the item is available for purchase, then set the Start time and End time.
Maximum packs per hour. The total number of packs you can prepare in an hour.
Tap Preview item to see how your meal will look, then tap Request approval.
Once approved:
You'll get a push notification and email.
Your meal will show in the Chowsmart section.
Mark it In stock to start receiving orders.
The maximum rider wait time at the restaurant is 5 minutes. Please make sure your Chowsmart item is packed and ready on time for rider pickup.
How Pricing & Commission Works
Chowsmart uses a simple, transparent model:
A 35% commission is applied to your meal price
Your earnings update in real time as you input a price
e.g. ₦6,000 meal = ₦3,900 payout
